Symptom

After doing “Relate to CRM” in a contact, if an appointment is created of type “SAP CRM” and tried to save it throws an “Runtime error 13. Type mismatch.”

Reason and Prerequisites

Prerequisite:- This note is valid only for CRM 7.0 releases below SP04.

Solution

A)
1.First download the zip file – “Setup.zip” from the link:

2.Extract the ‘SETUP.EXE’ file from the above file to your local
machine.
3.Then Goto transaction SE80 and choose ‘BSP Application’.
4.Search for ‘CRMCMP_GW_WC’.
5.Go to the folder MIMEs and right click on the ’setup.exe’.
6.Choose the option ‘Upload/Download’ and then ‘Upload and Replace’.
7.In the pop-up choose the path to latest setup.exe file.(You have saved
the unzipped setup.exe file to your machine in the 2nd step)
Please note that the extracted file ‘SETUP.EXE’ should be uploaded and
NOT THE .ZIP file itself.
B) You need to change the required version of GWI also. To change the
Required Version attribute follow the steps:
1.Goto transaction SE80 and choose ‘Class/Interface’.
2.Search for class ‘CL_CRM_XML_GW_SYNC’ and goto the Attributes.
3.Go to the edit mode for the class.
4.Change the ‘Initial Value’ column of the attribute ‘REQUIRED_VERSION’
to ‘7.013′ and save the changes. Activate this.
