Consulting: Information about Multiple CRM
[MCRM] [MEP] [Multiple CRM] [Multiple Exchange Projects]
Symptom
You plan to implement CRM scenarios in a system landscape with an SAP ERP system and several SAP CRM systems (MCRM – Multiple CRM).
Other terms
Multiple CRM, Multiple Exchange Projects, MEP, MCRM
Reason and Prerequisites
Over time, you may have developed complex, heterogeneous system landscapes.
With regard to processes, it may be useful to use another SAP CRM system in addition to the existing SAP CRM system and to integrate it with the existing SAP ERP system.
Contact SAP Consulting before you implement the Multiple CRM function. You should work in close cooperation with SAP Consulting to implement Multiple CRM.
Solution
As of SAP CRM 5.2, BASIS PI 2004.1_470 SP10 of ERP and higher, the standard SAP system technically supports the data exchange for a Multiple CRM scenario, in which the SAP ERP system is connected to more than one SAP CRM system, for Customizing objects and the application objects CUSTOMER_MAIN, CUSTOMER_REL, MATERIAL, BUPA_KNVH and DNL_CUST_PROD1. All other objects, in particular transaction data and conditions, are not supported in the standard system but they can be implemented on project basis.
The SAP ERP system must be Release 4.7. or higher.
In a Multiple CRM environment, it is necessary to identify several CRM systems uniquely. You can differentiate between the systems by creating your own consumer in the table CRMCONSUM in the SAP ERP system. You can use the report MCRM_SETTINGS to do this.
If you implement the standard MCRM scenario, no data is exchanged directly between the CRM systems. The integration occurs using the ERP system. On project basis, you can also exchange data between the CRM systems using the XIF adapter.
A combination of the multiple back end scenario (see Note 1084315) with Multiple CRM is not supported in the standard system.
If you implement the multiple CRM scenario, monitor the middleware data exchange regularly and carefully.
You can find the documentation on the SAP Service Marketplace under:
service.sap.com/crm-inst -> CRM 2007 -> CRM Server Components.
System landscapes that contain several CRM systems are usually very
customer-specific and require in-depth knowledge of the scenarios to be implemented. The basic functions described above and provided by SAP must be adjusted to meet each customer’s individual project requirements. SAP Consulting has extensive experience with projects involving complex system landscapes. We therefore strongly recommend that you implement a Multiple System Exchange Project (MEP) in cooperation with SAP Consulting.
